How The Center came to be

"Hey Peter, can we...?"

The Republican Candidates Resource Center was founded in 2024 by our three Founders, Bree Eldridge, Laura Mussler, and Peter Pappas.

Peter was actively campaigning for Cumberland County Commissioner, and the Center was both his family business office and campaign Headquarters.

Bree and Laura were working with Mr. Leonard Bryant's campaign as he ran for a North Carolina House Seat, and because of the friendship between Peter and Leonard, one day Peter tossed Leonard a key and invited him to use the office as the Bryant campaign headquarters. From there, everyone contributed small things that would eventually turn into enormous contributions for our community, changing the political landscape for the GOP .

Peter will jokingly accuse Laura and Bree of just peppering him with ideas. He knew when he heard either one of them say, 'Hey Peter, can we...' that he was going to do two things: say 'Yes' and allow the latitude they needed to run the campaign. Peter, Leonard, and the two ladies had a great working relationship, and each of them was aligned in their goal of winning the 2024 Election.

The Center had an incredibly successful opening day, with nearly 200 residents, elected officials, party officials, and others attending an afternoon of free food, networking, photo opportunities, and laughter. The Center was quickly recognized as "THE" place to go if you were a Republican in Cumberland County and were frustrated by your party headquarters not being open for business, and if they were, being less than hospitable.

During the 2024 Election, the Center was responsible for coordinating outreach at the various Early Voting sites.

When the GOP failed to act, deploying sufficient volunteers and materials, the Center purchased Tents and had Sample Ballots printed to be present and staff those precincts, promoting Republican Candidates.

The Center quickly earned the trust of voters in Cumberland County by demonstrating its capability for rapid deployment and thoughtful application of resources.
